Runescape Slayer Guide

The Slayer skill gives you the ability to kill enemies that would otherwise be unharmed by your attacks, by using Slayer equipment and your experience in the skill. You can begin the Slayer skill at any time by speaking to any of the 5 Slayer Masters, located in different parts of the RuneScape world:

Turael - East of the bar in Burthorpe.

Mazchna - In the northeast corner of Canifis.

Vannaka - In the Edgeville Dungeon, east of the Wilderness gate.

Chaeldar - South of the entrance to the Lost City of Zanaris.

Duradel - Above the fishing shop in Shilo Village.

If you're having trouble finding a Slayer Master, just look for the Slayer Icon on your map. It would also be wise to start off with the Slayer Master in Burthorpe, as he generally gives easier tasks than the others. cheap rs money

Training Slayer

To train your Slayer skill, you first need to get an assignment from one of the Slayer Masters as described above. They will tell you to kill a certain amount (no more than 200) of a kind of monster, and once you've defeated the required amount you can go back to your Slayer Master and get another assignment.

While on an assignment, you'll receive experience only for defeating the type of monster that has been assigned to you. Killing other monsters that have not been assigned to you will not get you any Slayer experience. The amount of experience you receive from each kill is the same as the number of hitpoints the monster has. If two players attack the same monster, one causing the most damage and the other stiking the final blow, the experience will be split in half between each player. cheap rs money

Some Slayer monsters also require you to use a weapon or other item to defend against their attacks. Be sure to bring this item with you at all times during the assignment, and don't attack Slayer monsters without the appropriate things or you may become overwhelmed and killed.

Slayer monsters drop many unique items that can only be obtained by killing them. These items include Black and White Mystic Robes, Armored Boots, Granite Maul, and the Abyssal Whip, as well as Clue Scrolls for Treasure Trails and assorted herbs.

Alternate Monsters

Sometimes your Slayer Master may be a bit vague as to the type of monster that he wants you to kill. He may generalize and say "Kalphites" or "Dragons," which means that you can kill any monster of that type.

Kalphites - Kalphite Workers or Soldiers.

Dragons - Baby Blue or Red Dragons.

Wolves - White Wolf Mountain Wolves.

Shades - Various Shades found in Mort'ton.

The Enchanted Gem

In Slayer there is a lot of equipment available (details below), but none more necessary than the Enchanted Gem. The Enchanted Gem will enable you to contact the most matched slayer master to your combat level (Vannaka to those below combat level 70, Chaeldar to those between combat level 70 and 100 and Duradel from combat level 100+).

Once you activate the enchanted gem you have the following options

The two most important options are "How am I doing so far?" which will tell you which monster you are killing, and how many you have left to kill of it such as "You're currently assigned to kill Cockatrice, only 85 more to go." The other important option is "Got any tips for me?" Then your slayer master will tell you advice such as "Werewolves are feral creatures, they are strong and tough with sharp claws and teeth"

The other two options "Who are you?" and "Where are you?" are simple questions which let you find out who your slayer master is (not just the name) and where to find him or her to get tasks from them.

Changing Assignments

If you think that a certain assignment is too tough or too boring, you have the ability to change it for another random assignment. At the Burthorpe Slayer Master (Turael), you can change it by asking for a new one. However, there are two snags:

You cannot change Slayer assignments given by Turael.

You cannot change an assignment by another master if the current monster assignment is assigned from Turael's list.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each of the 5 Slayer Masters will give you an assignment with a different level of difficulty, depending on the master that you speak to. Some also have requirements before you are able to get an assignment from them.

The following Slayer monsters can be found inside:

Cave Bug

Cave Slime

Wall Beast

Other Slayer Areas

Of course, the number of Slayer monsters appears to be increasing, and there are a number of other places where you can find some of the newer Slayer monsters:

Desert Lizard - Found just south of the Ruins Of Uzer & East across the river from Pollnivneach. To get there, take a magic carpet to Ruins of Uzer or if you haven't done the suitable quest take it to Pollniveach.

Runescape Runecrafting Guide

Runecrafting is an interesting and fun skill to practice in RuneScape, as there are many different kinds of Runes to make, and several parts to making them using this skill. Often times, you will not be standing in the same spot for a long time, so the skill moves along quickly and you can get a great deal of Runes crafted in a short time. buy runescape powerleveling

Before you can start crafting your own Runes, you need to mine some Rune Essence from the Essence Mine. Of course, not just anyone can find this mine, and only several characters in RuneScape can teleport you to it:

Aubury - Located in the Varrock Magic Shop.

Wizard Sedridor - Located in the Basement of the Wizard Tower.

Wizard Distentor - Found in the Yanille Magic Guild.

Wizard Cromperty - Located just northeast of the Ardougne Market.

Brimstail Gnome - Found in a cave in the southwest corner of the Tree Gnome Stronghold.

Once you're in the mine, just mine some Essence from any Rune Essence rock. You will either get Pure Essence or Normal Essence. These different Essence will be explained later on. After using the nearby portal you will be teleported to the character you spoke before.

You will also need a Talisman, depending on the type of Rune you wish to make. You need to use the correct Talisman with the ruins around RuneScape to be teleported to an Altar to craft your Runes. Check the Talisman and Altar Charts below for more info.

Runecrafting Pouches buy runescape powerleveling

After completing the Zamorak Mage's Runecrafting task, Members will have the ability to obtain Pouches for carrying Rune Essence. There are 4 different sized pouches, each able to hold a certain amount of Rune Essence, but you can only carry 1 of each pouch at a time. The different sized pouches are sometimes found from the loot of the Abyssal Creatures in the Abyss, including Abyssal Leeches (L 41), Guardians (L 59)and Walkers (L 81).

Pouches

Medium 25 6

Large 50 9

Giant 75 12

Kinds of Rune Essence

As said before, there are two types of Rune Essence in RuneScape: Regular Essence, and Pure Essence.

Regular Rune Essence can be used to Runecraft all of the FreePlay Runes, including Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Mind and Body. Member Runes such as Nature or Law Runes can't be crafted using this kind of essence.

You will always mine Regular Essence if you are a FreePlayer, or if you're a member with less than level 30 Mining.

Pure Rune Essence is used to craft all types of Runes, and can only be mined by Members who have level 30 Mining or better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Talismans

Once you have some Rune Essence, you're going to need a Talisman so that you can enter the Altar of the Rune you wish to make. Many of them are dropped by enemies around RuneScape, and after you have the one you need, bring it to the ruins of that specific Rune (If you have an Air Talisman, bring it to the ruins of the Air Altar) and use it with the "Mysterious Ruins" to be teleported to the actual Altar.

Tiaras

A Runecrafting Tiara is mostly the same as a Talisman, except for the fact that you can wear it on your head rather than carry it in your backpack. This way, you can save 1 extra space per trip for Rune Essence, which is very helpful for high level Runes. Check out the Crafting guide for info about making Tiaras.

Once you've crafted a regular Tiara, it's time to enchant it. Bring the Tiara to the Runecrafting Altar of your choice, along with the same kind of Talisman. Use the Tiara on the Altar to bind the Talisman and Tiara together to make an enchanted Tiara. This will cause you to lose your Talisman, but it's very useful in making higher level Runes since you don't need to use it with the altar to access it (thus saving a space in your inventory).

Runecrafting Altars

Now that you have both your Rune Essence and a Talisman for the kind of Rune you want to make, you need to find the Altar to which the Talisman belongs to. You can choose the "Locate Altar" option for the Talisman itself and be pointed in the correct direction, or follow the directions and look at the maps in the below chart.

Anyhow, just use your Talisman with the "Mysterious Ruins" to be brought to the Altar. To make the Runes, just select the "Rune-Craft Altar" option from the Altar itself to craft all of the Essence in your backpack into Runes.

Tip: You can mouse-over any of the "mini-maps" below to see an enlarged picture of the altar's location!

Crafting Runes

When you first start Runecrafting, you will only be able to make 1 of each rune per Essence. Upon reaching a certain Runecrafting level, you'll have the ability to make multiple Runes from a single Essence, since you'll have more control and skill over crafting them. You will always receive the same amount of experience from crafting each kind of Rune, regardless of the number you make.

Combination Runes

Combination Runes are a newer addition to Runecrafting for Members, and they are very useful to Wilderness Player-Killing. The basic idea is that you can combine 2 Elemental Runes together to make a single Rune. This newly-formed Rune counts as 2 different elements, such as both Water and Air. Only Elemental Runes such as Air, Water, Earth and Fire can be combined. You can create the following Runes:

Mist - Air & Water

Dust - Air & Earth

Mud - Water & Earth

Smoke - Air & Fire

Steam - Water & Fire

Lava - Earth & Fire

Combining Runes

In order to combine Runes, you'll need a few things including 1 of each Talisman, 1 type of Rune, and Rune Essence. So, if you wanted to make Mist Runes, bring an Air and a Water Talisman, either Air or Water Runes (whichever you wish to use), and Rune Essence. Depending on which Runes you choose to bring along, go to the other Temple (if you're making Mist Runes and bringing Air Runes, go to the Water Temple).

Enter the temple using the correct Talisman as usual, and then use the other Talisman on the Altar to combine the Runes.

Warning: The Talisman that is the same as the Runes you carry will be used up when combining them! Plan on losing 1 Talisman each time you combine Runes, so it would be wise to bring Runes who's Talismans you have more of.

Necklace of Binding

The Necklace of Binding will give you a 100% success rate while combining Runes while worn. It can be obtained by enchanting an Emerald Necklace using the Enchant Level 2 Jewelry spell.

Runescape Ranging Guide

Rangers can be quite powerful as they become stronger and more experienced at the art of Ranging, but you need to know several things before starting out. cheap runescape powerleveling

Basic Equipment

The weapon of choice for many Rangers is the Bow, which uses arrows to hit your enemy. There are 2 kinds of bows: Shortbows and Longbows. Shortbows are known to fire arrows more quickly than Longbows, but they're mainly used for close combat. You can also use a Crossbow and bolts, but generally they are less effective as you become a more experienced Ranger, since they only add 6 to Ranged Attack.

The basic Ranging equipment can be bought from Lowe's Archery Store in Varrock, located just northeast of the General Store, and also from a new Arrow Merchant in Rimmington which is a great place to buy supplies due to the fact that most people disregard it, and the stocks are always high.

There's also a Member's shop in Catherby that sells more advanced equipment, the Grand Tree Shop that sells bows and arrows, and of course the Ranging Guild. The Fletching skill can be used to make bows and arrows.

Combat Info

Now that you have your Ranging equipment, equip the bow and arrows (or crossbow and bolts) by clicking on them in your Backpack. To attack an enemy, just click on the "Attack" option to begin firing arrows or bolts. The most effective way to attack an enemy would be to stand behind an obstacle such as a gate or table, since they will be unable to attack you. Although, some of your foes may have the ability to attack you with their own Ranging weapons. cheap runescape powerleveling

You may also notice that some of your arrows "disappear" after hitting an enemy. This is simply due to the fact that some of your arrows will be damaged on impact or the enemy, and your character will not even try to salvage them.

When you equip a Bow, you have the choice of using 1 of several Fighting Styles; each of which give different amounts of experience, although each style gives about 1.3xp to Hitpoints:

Accurate - This style of Ranging is slightly slower, but more accurate than the 'Rapid' style will give 4xp to your Ranged level.

Rapid - This Ranging Style sacrifices accuracy, but fires about 1 second faster than the 'Accurate' style. It gives 4xp to your Ranged level.

Longrange - This style fires arrows at about the same speed as the 'Accurate' style, but it gives 2xp each to both Ranged and Defense.

Helpful Drinks

If you need a small boost to your Ranged level, have a drink of a Ranged Potion. it will increase your Ranged level by 15% for a short amount of time, and it can be made with your Herblore level if you're a Member.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bows & Arrows

Bows

Bows are the most widely used Ranging weapons, using arrows as their ammo. There are various Bows that you can use, although Free-Players can use up to Maple Bows. The Ogre bow is obtained from the Big Chompy Bird Hunting Quest. Crystal Bows are only available after completing the Roving Elves Quest. Check below for more info about it.

Crystal Bow

After completing the Roving Elves Quest, Members have the opportunity to buy a Crystal Bow for 900,000gp. You must have at least level 70 Ranging to use the bow. Unlike other bows, the Crystal Bow uses no ammo, and instead fires a magical shot. When you first start using it, it will have 2,500 uses, and each time you fire it, the remaining shots will decrease (As well as the attack bonus). If you right-click on the bow, you'll see a rating out of 10, depending on how many shots you have left.

Members can also poison arrows by using a Weapon Poison Potion with them to poison up to 5. Better arrows will require you to use a certain bow or higher in order to Range with them.

Crossbows & Bolts

Crossbows

There are quite a few different types of Crossbows in RuneScape, which are another type of Ranging weapon that fire Bolts rather than Arrows, and are slower than Bows. It's for this reason that they are not as commonly used by Rangers.

Blurite Crossbows are untradeable, and can only be smithed after completing the Knight's Sword Quest.

Bolts

There are nearly as many types of Bolts as there are Crossbows. These are the main ammo for Crossbows, and can be made with your Fletching and Smithing skills. Regular bolts may be poisoned with Weapon Poison. Most of them can also be "modified" with special tips to pack more of a punch. these tips include:

Opal - Use a chisel on an Uncut Opal, Mined from the Shilo Village rocks.

Pearl - Use a chisel on a Pearl, Fished with a Big Net.

Barbed - Traded for tickets at the Ticket Merchant in the Ranging Guild.

Gem - Use a Chisel with a gem to cut it, and then use your chisel on it again to make bolt Tips.

Here is a chart of the different kinds of bolts you can make, as well as the Bolt Tips you can add to them:

Enchanted Bolts

Bolts with special tips (Gems, Pearl, or Opal) may be enchanted with your Magic skill to have all sorts of interesting (and helpful) effects on your enemies. Simply place any bolts you wish to have enchanted in your backpack, and then click on the level 4 "Enchant Bolt" spell in your spellbook, to see a menu of possible enchantments. then just select one to enchant your bolts.

4 Opal 1 Cosmic, 2 Air Chance of a lightning bolt hitting your enemy causing damage.

7 Sapphire 1 Cosmic, 1 Water, 1 Mind Chance of stealing your enemies Prayer Points.

14 Jade 1 Cosmic, 2 Earth Chance of throwing your opponent to the ground.

24 Pearl 1 Cosmic, 2 Water Chance of hitting your enemy with a wave of water (extra effective against fire-based equipment).

27 Emerald 1 Cosmic, 3 Air, 1 Nature Chance of poisoning your enemy.

29 Red Topaz 1 Cosmic, 2 Fire Chance of decreasing your enemies Magic level.

49 Ruby 1 Cosmic, 5 Fire, 1 Blood Chance of losing 10% of your hits to remove 20% of your enemy's hits.

57 Diamond 1 Cosmic, 10 Earth, 2 Law Chance of decreasing your enemy's Ranged Defense.

68 Dragonstone 1 Cosmic, 15 Earth, 1 Soul Chance of hitting your opponent with "DragonBreath" (Antifire Shield negates this).

87 Onyx 1 Cosmic, 20 Fire, 1 Death Chance of leeching your opponent's hits.

Mithril Grapples

You've probably seen the "secret spy" movies in which a thief makes a cunning entrance with a grappling hook. Well, now you can use your own Mithril Grapple to scale walls and pass over certain Agility obstacles.

To accomplish this, simply Smith a Mithril Grapple and some mithril Bolts and attach them. Use a coil of Rope with the Grappling Hook, and with a Crossbow equipped, use the Grapple with the shortcut to scale it. Be sure to have a spare though, as these devices can sometimes break!

Throwing Weapons

Darts & Throwing Knives

Throwing Darts and Knives are Members-Only Ranging weapons that pack a punch and can be quickly thrown at your enemy. You can make Darts once you complete the Tourist Trap Quest by Smithing a Dart Tip, and then adding Feathers to them. Throwing Knives can be Smithed as well.

Dwarven Multi-Cannon

This extremely powerful Ranging Cannon can be bought for a nominal fee of 750,000gp, after you complete the Dwarf Cannon Quest. The cannon can hold up to 30 Cannonballs, Smithed from a Steel Bar (1 Bar makes 4 Cannonballs), and it is made up of a base, stand, furnace, and barrel. To use it, you must set up all four pieces on the floor, and load it with Cannonballs. After that, it will continue to rotate, hitting any nearby enemies.

Although the Dwarven Multicannon is a very cool weapon, there are a few things to note. First, you can't use it against extremely tough enemies such as the Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon, Abyssal Demon or any of the Metal Dragons, as they will destroy it. Second, using it for extended periods of time will cause your cannon to degrade (you'll see a message alerting you of this). If this happens, simply pick it up and set it back down again.

However, if the cannon degrades completely, it will disappear and leave only Cannonballs behind. When that happens, you must head back to Nulodion and get a replacement cannon.

Ranging Armors

There are 2 main kinds of Ranging armor in RuneScape, which increase both your Defense and Ranged Attack. These armors are Crafted from either regular Leather or Dragon Leather, which gives protection against Magical attacks as well.

Leather

This is the most basic type of Ranging Armor, but it offers some protection against attacks. Some pieces of leather armor can be Studded with Steel Studs.

Dagannoth Armor can only be acquired from materials gathered by killing Dagannoths on Waterbirth Island, and it cannot be bought in any shop. There are different types of Dagannoth Armor: Ranged, Magic and Melee. We're after the Ranged Armor in this case.

Dagannoths will drop hides, which you can take back to Sigli the Hunter in Rellekka to have made into armor. You will need 6 Dagannoth hides, 1 Circular Hide, 1 Flattened Hide, 1 Stretched Hide, and 22,500gp to make a full set. to complete the set, you need to get the gloves and boots by killing Dagannoths.

The helm, body and chaps all require 40 Ranged and Defense, while the boots and gloves have no requirements.

Runescape Prayer Guide

When you pray to the Gods of RuneScape, they will help you by making you instantly stronger, or un-affected by a foes' attack, depending on the prayer that you use. To use more prayers and to make them last longer, you should bury bones which are dropped by many monsters throughout RuneScape.

You can find a graphical prayer list by clicking on the silver-colored symbol located to the right of the game screen. It will tell you which prayers you are using, the ones that you can use, and any ones that you can't use yet. To activate a prayer just click on the one you wish to use, and to de-activate it just click on it again. runescape power leveling

Colored-in Icon: This means that you have enough experience and are a high enough level in order to use the prayer.

Lit-up Icon: The prayer is in use and will continue to drain your prayer points until you stop praying.

Blacked-out Icon: You're unable to use the prayer until you reach the required prayer level.

You can use more than one prayer at a time, but your prayer points will drain faster if you do. When your points drain down to 0, you will be unable to use any prayers until you recharge at an altar. Altars can be found in many churches around RuneScape. They can also be built in the Chapels of Player Owned Houses.

Stat-Boosting Altars

Some Altars will provide you with extra Prayer Points if you pray at it while you have full prayer points (ie: 30/30). There are currently two known Altars that posess this property:

The Altar upstairs in the Prayer Guild adds 2 Prayer Points. runescape power leveling

The Nature Shrine in Mort Myre Swamp, which you gain access to after completing the Nature Spirit Quest, adds 2 Prayer points.

Bones

By taking a short walk through the town of Lumbridge, you could most likely find a backpack full of bones, but you may have more luck by killing monsters for them. Many monsters and NPC's that you can fight will drop bones, but others will not drop any. There are also different kinds of bones you can find, depending on the enemy.

Ghasts

Another good way for Members to gain Prayer experience is by killing Ghasts in the Mort Myre Swamp. After starting the Nature Spirit Quest, you are able to enter the swamp, but you should first complete the quest and receive a Druid Pouch to fill with 'Natures Harvests.' This will cause any Ghasts that attack to become visible so that you can kill it. Defeating a Ghast will give 30 experience to Prayer.

Shades

By burning the remains of the Mort'ton Shades, you'll receive Prayer experience. First you need to complete the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. Then you can cut some logs and pour some Sacred Oil on them. Kill a Shade and use the logs on 1 of the Pyres around the village. Place the remains on the Pyre as well, and light it with a Tinderbox. More info can be found in the Firemaking guide.

One of the main reasons for burning shades is for the purpose of obtaining keys for the Mort'ton Dungeon. Inside, you'll find various doors which require a different key, and inside of those rooms will be a chest; some of which contain Fine Cloth, used in making Splitbark Armor.

Ectofuntus

After compleing the Ghosts Ahoy Quest, Ectofuntus can be used to gain more Ecto-tokens and Prayer experience. Ecto-Tokens can be used for many things inside Port Phasmatys, and you'll receive experience for worshipping the Ectofuntus. The Prayer experience earned for worhipping the Ectofuntus is 4 Times the normal experience received when just burying them.

But before you head off to worship this slimy structure, make sure you have Pots, Buckets (enough for the number of Bones you are bringing), Bones, and an Amulet of Ghostspeak. The Ectophial is also handy for teleporting from the Pool of Slime to the Ectofuntus.

Speak to the Ghost Disciple and ask about Ectofuntus. Climb down the trapdoor to the west and continue downwards until you find a Pool of Slime. Fill your buckets and head back up to the temple. Grind several sets of bones in the bone Grinder upstairs. To do this, use them with the machine, wind it up, and then empty each 1 into a Pot. Now climb downstairs and use the Slime with the Ectofuntus.

The Prayers

There are many different kinds of prayers that can aide you in battle, doing things from keeping an enemy from hitting you with his axe, to making your hits more powerful or even speeding up the recovery of your stats.

Retribution 46 Deals damage up to 25% of your maximum Prayer to any nearby enemies if you die.

Redemption 49 If your health drops below 10%, you'll be healed for 25% of your maximum Prayer. Also drains all of your Prayer Points.

Smite 52 When fighting another player, they will lose 1 Prayer point for every 4 damage you hit.

Prayer Notes

Protect Prayers -Will completly protect you from monster/NPC attacks other than Verac in the Barrows who has the ability to hit through the Protect from Melee Prayer. Has a 50% chance of protecting you from attacks by other players in places such as the Wilderness, Duel Arena or Player Owned Houses in Combat Rings or Dungeons with PvP Combat on.

Multiple Prayers - You can use several prayers at once, but only 1 of each type (i.e. you can't use Thick Skin and Rock Skin at once).

You can only use either Melee, Magic or Ranged attack prayers at the same time. This means that you could use two Melee Prayers like Incredible Reflexes and Ultimate Strength as long as one raises attack, and the other strength. You can't use stat boosting Prayers for two different skills, so you can't use Mystic Lore at the same time as Ultimate Strength.

Protect Prayers, Retribution, Redemption and Smite can only be used 1 at a time; you can't use mutiple Prayers of this type.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Helpful Objects

There are many things that can improve your prayer, which slows down how fast your points will drain. Of course, you can bury bones to increase your level, but there are also items like robes, amulets and maces that can make your prayers last longer.

Amulets & Symbols

These items are worn around your neck and give special bonuses. They can also be crafted and then enchanted or blessed to bring out the special powers.

Prayer Books

Members have the ability to wield Prayer Books, after completing the Horror From the Deep Quest. They are wielded in place of a shield and will initially add 5 to your Prayer bonus, along with other bonuses depending on the Book of the RuneScape God that you choose. You can also perform Ceremonies: Wedding Rites, Blessing, Last Rites, and Preach.

Each book needs to be completed by adding 4 pages (belonging to that book) to it. These pages can be a Treasure Trail Reward, or traded from other players. Once you've completed 1 book, you can go back to Jossik and buy another for 5,000gp. If you happen to lose a book, Jossik will give it back to you, and any pages will still be there.

After you've completed a book and have level 50 Prayer, you'll be able to bless the Symbols of the Gods. A Book of Balance can bless both Holy and Unholy Symbols, while the other books can only bless Symbols of the same God.

Prayer Books

Book & Picture Info

Holy Book (S) +8 to Defensive bonuses.

Unholy Book (Z) +8 to Attack bonuses.

Book of Balance (G) +4 to both Attack and Defensive bonuses.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having Symbols Blessed

Both Holy and Unholy Symbols can be blessed in order to give a special prayer bonus when they're worn. Once you have your unblessed symbol, you need to bring it to the specific person who will bless it for you.

To bless a Holy Symbol, bring it to Brother Jered upstairs in the Monk's Monastery. To have your Unholy Symbol blessed, bring it to the Spirit of Scorpius, the ghost in the graveyard just north of the Observatory. Remember, you need to have already completed the Observatory Quest before he will bless your symbols.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Player-Owned House Chapels

Members who own a Player Owned House (POH) have the ability to build a Chapel, in which you may build an altar to pray at. You may also use your bones with the altar to receive some bonus experience, depending on the kind of altar and the number of burners you have lit. The values below show how much of a bonus you will receive when burying bones at an altar, in addition to the usual experience you would normally gain.

Prayer Experience bonuses

Altar Bonus Experience (No Burners) Bonus Experience (1 Burner) Bonus Experience (2 Burners)

Oak Normal 150% 200%

Teak 110% 160% 210%

Cloth 125% 175% 225%

Limestone 175% 225% 275%

Marble 200% 250% 300%

Gilded 250% 300% 350%

So for instance, if you buried some Dragon bones (72xp per bone) at a Gilded Altar with no burners, you would use a math formula like this:

(72 * 2.5) = 180 experience

Runescape Mining Guide

To begin mining, you should first obtain a basic pickaxe which can be picked up in a small house in the Barbarian Village. Once you have one, it's time to set out and find a place to mine. There are several mining spots around the city of Varrock, and the Scorpion Pit mine near the desert town of Al Kharid that should have plenty of ores to start mining. runescape powerleveling

almini

Mining Ores

Now that you've found a place to mine, you can either jump right in and click on a rock to mine from, or you can prospect the rock. When you prospect a rock you will search for any ores inside and determine what type of ore is in the rock. This could take some time, so it's best to learn what color each different rock will be when it has ore in it. Now you can click on a rock to mine from it, and your character will keep mining until you obtain the ore.

Mining Gems

From time to time you may find an uncut gem while mining. These can be crafted, and are valuable to anyone working on the skill. Gems can be cut with a chisel to make them more valuable when sold to a store, but most people would prefer uncut gems to work on their crafting. There's a greater chance of mining a gem if you are wearing a charged Amulet of Glory, but finding a gem can still be difficult.

See the below "Gems" sub-section for more information. runescape powerleveling

Dwarven Stouts

If you need a quick "level-up," a Dwarven Stout is just the drink for you. Stouts will raise both your mining and smithing levels by 1 for a short amount of time. They can be bought from the Rising Sun Bar in Falador for 3gp, so stock up on them if you plan on using many stouts during your mining career.

Mature Stouts & Beer

As a reward from the Forgettable Tale (of a Drunken Dwarf) Quest you will get 2 Mature Dwarven Stouts which will increase your Mining and Smithing levels by 2, not just the ordinary 1 level. When Brewing Beer there is a chance that it will become Mature and give extra bonuses. To make it more likely that it becomes Mature you can add "The Stuff" which is something you can buy as a reward from Trouble Brewing.

Powermining

This is also known as "Drop Mining." Powermining is when you rapidly mine ores on drop them solely for the purpose of gaining quick experience. Generally, players will powermine ores that are easy to mine, such as Iron, Copper, Sandstone and Granite. These ores respawn quickly and are easy to obtain.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pickaxes

Miners that are more skilled have the ability to use higher quality pickaxes which allow you to obtain ores more quickly when mining. Pickaxes range from Bronze being the lowest quality, and Rune being the highest, but they are rather expensive.

Pickaxes can be bought from Nurmof's Pickaxe Shop, which is found in the Dwarven Mines. There are two entrances to the mine: the first being in a building northeast of the east Falador bank, and the second being to the south of Ice Mountain (located north of Falador). The shop itself is found to the west of the entrance. You must go around the twisting passage, and the shop is north of the General Store.

Repairing a Pickaxe

From time to time, your Pickaxe head may become loose and happen to fly off of the handle while you're Mining from a rock. If this happens, just pick the Pickaxe Head up and reattach it to the handle.

A Pickaxe can be damaged beyond use if you mine from a steaming rock, and you will be unable to mine with it. Bring your Damaged Pickaxe to Nurmof and use it with him so that he can fix it for a fee.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rocks & Ores

Of course, we can't forget the main part of mining; the ores! Each ore can be found in a specifically colored rock to match the ore, and when a rock is full of the ore it will change color. Instead of prospecting each rock, it's best to remember what each rock looks like, in order to make mining go much quicker.

Gems

While mining rocks, you may happen to mine a Gem. Gems can be used to make various objects such as jewelry or bolt tips, and come in a variety of types. Regular gems, including Sapphires, Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds can all be mined from regular rocks containing ore; the most common ones being Sapphires. If you're a Member and wearing a charged Amulet of Glory, you'll have a better chance of mining gems.

There are also other kinds of gems, including Opals, Jades and Red Topazes which can only be mined from the Shilo Village rocks. Once you complete the Shilo Village Quest, you will be able to use these rocks to mine all types of gems.

Special Ores

Some of the ores that you'll mine in RuneScape only have a certain purpose, such as being used in a quest. Others have unique uses instead of being able to be smithed into armor and weapons.

Elemental 20 0 (not mined) Used in the Elemental Workshop Quest.

Daeyalt 20 17 Used in the Darkness of Hallowvale Quest. It's worth noting that there are 3 ores per rock, and it is possible to powermine it.

Pure Essence 30 5 Used in Runecrafting to make any type of Runes.

Sandstone 35 1kg - 30

2kg - 40

5kg - 50

10kg - 60 Sandstone is currently only used during the Enakhras's Lament Quest. It is pretty easy to mine and can be powermined for fast experience.

Gem Rocks 40 65 Found in Shilo Village. You can mine any gem (except Dragonstone) from these.

Granite 45 Tiny- 50

Small - 60

Medium - 75 Granite is currently only used during the Enakhras's Lament Quest. If you have a high enough mining level it is possible to effectively powermine it for quick experience.

Lunar Ore 60 - Used only during the Lunar Diplomacy Quest.

Mining Notes

A higher mining level will make it easier to mine bigger chunks of Sandstone. You can also break the chunks of Sandstone with a chisel. For example a 5kg piece would break into two 2kg and a 1kg. You can only carve granite during the quest. Chiseling sandstone does not give any crafting experience.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ore Respawn Times

Each ore in the game takes a certain amount of time to respawn, or reappear so that you can mine it. Generally, the higher-level ores take a longer time to respawn than lower level ones, and the number of players on a server also effect ore respawn times: the more people on a server, the quicker an ore will respawn. The following is a chart of approximate respawn times for ores:

Average Ore Respawn Times

Mining Notes

Timing spawns on perfectly empty servers without the aid of a private server is technically impossible, and as such these are approximated times.

In the case of rune ores, accurately timing the spawns becomes extremely difficult, if not impossible, on lesser populated servers as the times differ by up to a minute between spawns due to rapidly changing sever sizes. As such, these times are based on the underlying pattern, and were loosely checked for accuracy.

Runescape Firemaking Guide

Of course, firemaking is a straightforward and easy skill to work on, but you will most likely need some practice when you first start out. There are a few essential items that you should also obtain before you begin.

Items You Need

Hatchet - Any kind will work, but the better the Axe, the easier it will be to obtain the wood. Bronze, Iron and Steel ones can be bought from Bob's Axes in Lumbridge, Bronze to Rune can be Smithed, while the Dragon Axe is a possible drop from the Dagannoth Kings.

Tinderbox - This is what lights the fire, and can be bought in any General Store.

Logs - The 'food' for the fire. With a hatchet in your inventory or equipped, click on a tree to chop it. cheap rs money

Building a Fire

Now that you have everything together, you can either use the tinderbox with the logs in your backpack, or drop the logs and use the tinderbox with them. Or, you can now choose the option 'Light Fire' if you see some logs on the ground. Your character will keep trying to light the fire until it catches, and then you've got a hot fire!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fire Info

Once you have become better at firemaking, you will be able to burn a wider variety of logs which give even more experience. These logs from less common trees require a higher level and some can only be found in certain places in the RuneScape world, but they are also worth more than normal logs.

Pyre Logs

Members have the ability to burn Pyre Logs once they've completed the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. Burning Pyre logs will give added firemaking experience. If you've already given Razmire, the Mort'ton General Store owner, Serum 208, you can speak to him and buy some Olive Oil from his shop.

Now you need building supplies. Limestone Bricks, Planks, Swamp Paste can all be bought at the Builder's Store. A Flamtaer Hammer is very helpful, which you can buy for 10,000gp at the General Store. If you don't want to spend all that cash, just bring a regular Hammer.

Begin rebuilding the Temple Wall in the northeast corner of Mort'ton. Once your sanctity reaches 10%, the fire in the center can be lit with a Tinderbox. Once it's lit, use the Olive Oil with it to get Sacred Oil. Pour some on the logs of your choice to get that type of Pyre Log. By collecting the remains of the Shades in the dungeon nearby, you can burn the logs on the Pyres around the village to maybe get a Key for opening chests. Some have items in them, and you may even find a piece of Fine Cloth, which is used in making Splitbark Armor.

Lanterns

Members also have the ability to light Lanterns, which are used while in extremely dark places. For info about making the actual lantern, check out the Crafting guide.

To light a Lantern, you first need to get fuel for it. Collect some Swamp Tar from either the Lumbridge or Mort Myre Swamp, and bring it to the Chemist west of Rimmington. Use the tar with the Still on the Chemist's table, and then use the lantern with the Still to fill it up. Candle Lanterns just need a lit Candle to be used with them. Now just use a Tinderbox to light it. The better the Lantern you use, the brighter the light is. cheap rs money

The Harpie Bug Lantern is not used as a light source, but instead to defend against Harpie Bug Swarms.

The Sapphire Lantern is used during the Tears of Guthix Quest, but can also be used as a decent light source and to attract light creatures. The Emerald Lantern is used in the Lunar Diplomacy Quest to uncover jinxes on the ship. It can later be used for a good light source. Speak to the Cabin Boy on Lunar Isle if you ever need another lense.

Goblin Helmets

After completing the Lost Tribe Quest, Members have the ability to light Goblin Mining Helmets. After completing the quest, you can trade the Brooch (quest item) for a helmet. You can also get them as loot from Cave Goblin Miners. Once you have one, just light it by using your Tinderbox with it. Lighting a Goblin Mining Helmet gives no experience, but requires level 65 Firemaking.

Other Items

Of course, you are able to light several other items in RuneScape. Some are just used in quests, while others are used for extra lighting in dark places. Candles, Black Candles and Torches all require level 1 firemaking to light with a Tinderbox.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Firemaking Uses

Firelighters

Firelighters are a possible reward from a Treasure Trail clue, and are a Gnome "invention." You will always succeed in lighting these kinds of fires, and depending on which kind of firelighter you have, it will burn a different color. There are currently 5 different kinds of Firelighters available:

Movable Cooking Spit

Are you the type that's always on the run? Do you feel the need to eat a snack wherever you're going? If so, the Rotisserie Cooking Spit is just for you! With this nifty invention (which can be Smithed), you can set up your own rotating roaster (over a fire) and cook either Chompy Bird Meat or Rabbit Meat. Simply use the meat with the spit, light a fire, and then used the skewered meat with the fire. Voila - one meal to go!

Runescape Fishing Guide

In order to start fishing, you're going to need to buy something to catch the fish with, and if needed, some sort of lure. The fishing shop in Port Sarim has a multitude of fishing gear, and they'll even buy the assorted fish that you catch. There's also a store in Catherby that sells Members' gear such as Big Nets.

The place that you can catch a fish, and the type of lures you use to catch it depends on the kind of fish you want to catch, so check the Fishing Gear and Fishing Chart below for specific info. buy runescape powerleveling

Once you've gotten everything together, find a sparkling fishing spot in the water and click on it. You may need to right-click to get the correct option. Your character will continue fishing until your backpack is full, or you click somewhere around you.

Catching Fish

Once you begin to get better at fishing, you'll be able to fish for a wider variety of fish. Once fish are cooked, they can heal your lost hitpoints from a fight, and many warriors depend on skilled fisherman to sell them food. After you become an experienced fisherman, you can make a great deal of money in this trade.

Runescape Fletching Guide

Fletching can often be an interesting skill to work on in RuneScape, since you can make all sorts of different things with it. The skill can also be fun, as you're not standing in the same place all the time. Instead, you can move around working on the skill, and usually you will be gaining experience toward other skills as well.

A Knife will come in handy for cutting logs into the kind of item that you want to make, and you can find one behind Bob's Axe store in Lumbridge, upstairs in the Varrock General Store, or in the house just south of the Seer's Village Pub. Once you have a Knife, you just need to use it with some logs to decide what item and how many of them you want to make. By right-clicking on the item in the menu, you can choose to either make 1, 5, 10 or 'X' of them. cheap runescape powerleveling

Fletching Arrows

To Fletch some arrows, you'll first need to make Arrow Shafts out of regular logs. One set of logs will make 15 Shafts, giving a total of 5xp. Now you need to obtain some feathers, and then use them with the arrow shafts. Each arrow needs just 1 feather, and you earn 1xp per feather you add. To finish the arrow, you need to get some Arrow Heads of the metal you want, either by Smithing or buying them from the Archery Shop in Catherby, the Ranging Guild, or King Lathas' Training Area. Use the heads with the arrows to finish them.

Fletching Bows

To make a bow, first Fletch either a Short Bow or a Long Bow out of the wood you wish to make the bow from. Now pick some Flax from either the field south of Camelot Castle, or from the Gnome Stronghold. Use the flax with a Spinning Wheel to get a Bowstring. Spinning Wheels can be found in the southeast corner of the Gnome Stronghold, upstairs in the house southwest of the Seer's Village bank, as well as in Lumbridge Castle, the Barbarian Village and Falador. Use the string with your Unstrung Bow to finish it.

Fletching Crossbows

Using a combination of Smithing, Fletching, Crafting and Cooking, you'll be able to make your own Crossbows. These objects are made out of both metal and wood (as well as a string), and so they require you to use these three skills to complete them.

First, use a knife with a set of logs to make a Crossbow Stock. Next, you need to make a set of Crossbow Limbs from metal. These can be made by using your Smithing skill. But remember, only certain kinds of metals will work with certain stocks.

Once you have those pieces put together, you need to add a string to the crossbow (u) so that you can actually use it. This is fairly simple to do; first you need to cook some Bear Meat (or Beef) over a range, and choose to turn it into Sinew rather than making it into an edible piece of meat. Next, spin the Sinew on a Spinning Wheel (requires 10 Crafting) to make a Crossbow String.

Lastly, just use the Crossbow String with your unfinished Crossbow to complete it!

Other Items

You can also Fletch several kinds of Bolts, as well as Darts with your Fletching Skill. Usually these are not made to increase your Fletching level, as they give less experience and are more time-consuming to make.

Darts

To make a Dart, you'll need to have already completed the Tourist Trap Quest. First Smith some dart Tips of the type of metal you want to make the dart from. Then just add a feather to each dart to complete them.

Now cut down an Achey Tree and use the Knife with the Logs and choose the arrow shaft option (Note: you will make 2-6 arrows per set of logs). Use 4 feathers on the arrow shafts and you'll have some headless arrows. Next get your Hammer and Nails and use the nails on the headless arrows and you've made your Brutal Arrows.

Bolts

There are quite a few different kinds of bolts you can Fletch. Regular ones (such as Iron or Mithril) can be poisoned with Weapon Poison, which can poison your enemies.

To make a bolt, you need some Feathers and some Unfeathered Bolts. Feathers can be bought from any Fishing Shop (such as the ones in Port Sarim or Catherby), or obtained from Chickens. Unfeathered Bolts can be smithed out of various metals. Simply use the Feathers on the Unfeathered Bolts to make some complete Bolts for use with a Crossbow.

With bolts, there are two things worth noting. First, Blurite Bolts can only be made after completing the Knight's Sword Quest. Secondly, Silver Bolts are actually Crafted with a Silver Bolt Mould and a Silver Bar, rather than Smithed.

You may also add Bolt Tips to your Bolts, which make them more powerful. Bolt Tips can be made from Pearls, Gems, Barbs and even a Mithril Grapple.

Opal - Mine for some Opals at Shilo Village, and then use a Chisel with them to make Opal Tips. Now just use these with some regular bolts.

Pearl - Obtain some Pearls by Fishing with a big net, and then chisel them into Pearl Tips. Use them with some regular bolts.

Barbed - Buy 30 Barbed Tips from the Ticket Merchant in the Ranging Guild for 140 Tickets. Use them with regular bolts.

Gem - Use a Chisel with a gem to cut it, and then use your chisel on it again to make bolt Tips.

Runescape Hitpoints Guide

What are hitpoints?

Hitpoints are your life points, and having a higher Hitpoint level allows you to not only fight stronger level monsters, but also affects your combat level! To level up your Hitpoints, you can fight monsters with either of the following skills:

1. Melee, close combat fighting,

2. Maging, killing from a distance with magic,

3. Ranging, killing from a distance with bow and arrow.

Each of these skills require high determination to level really high, however the first few levels should be easy enough.

Is it true that increasing your Hitpoints also increases your combat level? runescape powerleveling

Yes, to answer your question more accurately, your style of fighting, which gets you Hitpoint experience will also give you combat levels. Combat levels don't only come from fighting directly, but also from getting Hitpoint levels and Prayer levels!

What is the highest hitpoints level you can have?

Currently, the highest you can get in any level is 99; however with the use of different potions from Herblore, you can get even higher levels for short amounts of time!

These specific potions increase a skill depending on what strength you take, the highest lasting for about 10-20 minutes. These potions can make your skills reach over 100 too! But be warned, the better the potion (in terms of normal or super type potions), the costlier it will become.

When can I start? runescape powerleveling

Well, you could always just read on to the first chapter of my guide, Melee.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melee

Melee style fighting is the least effective way of getting your Hitpoints level to a higher standard, but it also lets you get up your combat level in the same way.

Combat Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-9: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 1-14.

Note: Rats, Chickens and Giant Spiders are not suggested monsters to fight against at this level, being as they give hardly any experience.

Level 10-19: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 15-27.

Note: Warrior women give the least amount of exp here, but only by a slight amount.

Level 20-29: The basic level monsters ranging from levels 28-37.

Level 30-39: The medium level monsters ranging from levels 38-47.

Level 40-69: The medium level monsters ranging from levels 48-57.

Level 70-89: The high level monsters ranging from levels 58-67.

Level 90-126: The highest level monsters ranging from levels 68-333.

Note: Levels above 92 are members only and will not be explained in this guide.

Notes on Melee Style Training

Try fighting monsters one section below your own combat level to gain easier and quicker Hitpoints exp. E.g. I was level 70, so I should fight monsters around level 48-57 to make my Hitpoint raising time a lot quicker.

Fighting higher level monsters can be a little bit easier in getting up your Hitpoints, but be forewarned that you may need a lot of food if you are a low defense level, just so you don't get killed.

Different Melee Styles

The different Melee styles are as following:

Accurate

Aggressive

Defensive

Remember that no matter what fighting style you choose to train, you will get equal amounts of Hitpoints experience (about 1.33xp per damage point inflicted).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maging

Maging is the second most effective way of leveling up hitpoints. For more Maging information, check out the Magic Guide.

Before we start Maging, I'd like to add one more thing: non-damage spells (such as Alchemy spells) do NOT give any Hitpoints experience whatsoever.

Magic Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-16: Use the best attack type spells you can (strikes) on monsters ranged from levels 1-20

Level 17-35: Use the best attack type spells you can (bolts) on monsters ranged from levels 21-40

Level 36-59: Use the best attack type spells you can (blasts) on monsters ranged from levels 41-60

Level 60+: Members only is recommended.

Notes on Magic style hitpoints raising:

For magic, remember if you have cover from higher level monsters, so that they can not hurt you, feel free to attack them!

Be sure to check out what type of attacks your monster can use, just be careful they don't use magical attacks against you

Different Maging style attacks

The different maging styles when attacking an opponent are as follows:

Accurate/Aggressive

Defensive

They also all give out equal amounts of Hitpoint experience!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ranging

Ranging is the most effective way of getting up your Hitpoints level. For more information on ranging, check the Ranging Guide. All types of ranging give you Hitpoint experience

Ranging Level & Monsters to Train On

Level 3-14: Fight monsters ranged between levels 1-10

Level 15-25: Fight monsters ranged between levels 11-30

Level 26-37: Fight monsters ranged between levels 31-50

Level 37+: Fight all monsters above level 51

Notes on Ranging to gain hitpoints:

Like maging, make sure you find some good cover from opponent monsters before starting, so you don't get overwhelmed by a higher level monster.

Also, remember that, like Meleeing and Maging, no matter what type of ranging you choose, you will always get equal amounts of Hitpoint experience unless of course when you use a cannon which will cost you about 650k.

For ranging, fight the monsters in a lower category, just to keep safe if you can't find any cover, in which case it does not matter.

Different Ranging styles

The different ranging styles of attacks are as follows:

Accurate/Rapid

Longrange

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion

Well that wraps it up for Hitpoints leveling on free to play.

Remember to always fight lower category monsters, unless of course you have some cover (when maging and ranging).

Keep in mind, the higher levels you get, the harder the Hitpoints levels will become, but it will be worth it in the end.
